Daescu Continues to Roll

Daescu Advances to Round of 16

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Andrei Daescu advanced to the round of 16 at the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Yale.

Daescu, the tournaments No. 4 seed, advanced after defeating Boise State's Vincent Joli, 7-6, 6-2.

Next up, Daescu faces Wisconsin's Marek Michalicka, No. 34 nationally, at noon. If Daescu wins he will play in quarterfinal action at 6 p.m. against either USC's Steve Johnson, No. 18 nationally, or Virginia's Jarmere Jenkins.
