Connelly, Radan Win on Final Day in Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill.—OU's Kristina Radan and Katelyn Connelly collected wins on Sunday as the Sooners competed in the final day of the Wildcat Invite at Northwestern University.

The tournament was cut short due to inclement weather and time constraints. The singles finals in Flights A, B and C were cancelled along with the final doubles matches.

The Sooners finished 2-5 on day three of the tournament, and played all but one match in the consolation bracket.

Connelly defeated Nicole Herzog of Michigan State in the Flight B singles consolation bracket, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, while Radan topped Rita Maisak of South Carolina, 6-1, 6-4, in the Flight C consolation bracket.

After winning two matches on Saturday, Junior Tara Eckel lost to Maria Nivia of Western Michigan in the Flight D singles final on Sunday, 6-3, 6-3.

In Flight A singles, sophomore Marie-Pier Huet lost to Depaul's Katarina Milinkovic in the consolation bracket semifinals, 6-1, 6-4. Freshman Teona Tsertsvadze also competed in the Flight A consolation bracket, falling to Kristen Rafael of Notre Dame, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.

Junior Maria Kalashnikova fell to No. 114 Dijana Stojic of South Carolina, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, in the Flight B semifinals.

In the Flight C consolation bracket, freshman Brittany Parks fell to Wisconsin's Angela Chupa, 6-3, 6-4.

The Sooners will get a short break from their fall tournament season before hosting the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla., on Oct. 21-25.
