NORMAN, Okla.--The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team heads to Little Rock, Ark., to face the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans on Sunday, Feb. 1.
The Sooners are coming off a strong victory against Texas-Pan American last week, sweeping the Lady Broncs, 7-0. The win against UTPA marked the Sooners first match with new head coach David Mullins.
Sunday's match will be the first road match for the Sooners and will be an important test for the young team. In last week's match OU played three freshmen against Texas-Pan American.
"This trip will really help prepare the freshmen for what is ahead of them," Mullins said.
The Sooners face a tough road schedule in the next few weeks beginning with UALR. OU will play eight road matches before returning home to the Headington Family Tennis Center on March 8.
"We are ready to get this stretch of away matches underway," Mullins said. "We are looking forward to the match against UALR."
Sophomore standout, Ana-Maria Constantinescu, will be back in action against the Trojans on Sunday after missing last week's match. Constantinescu is ranked in the top 125 singles players nationally and is ranked No. 6 in the Central Region.
