Sooners Finish in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—OU women's tennis finished the last day of competition Sunday at the Razorback Classic with sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu falling to the No. 1 nationally ranked singles player.

Constantinescu, ranked No. 93, was defeated by No. 1 Aurelija Miseviciute from Arkansas, 6-1, 6-1.

Five other Sooners competed in backdraw flights on Sunday and had an overall record of 3-2.

"Overall I was extremely pleased with how the weekend went,” OU head coach Dave Mullins said. “We got a lot of much needed match play and I learned a great deal about each of their games."

The Sooners will have a few weeks to prepare for the remainder of their fall season. Constantinescu heads to the 2008 Riviera/ITA All-American Tournament, Sept. 30, to compete in the qualifying round.
