Constantinescu Advances to Finals

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — OU women's tennis continued success Saturday afternoon at the Razorback Classic with sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu advancing to singles finals.

Constantinescu defeated No. 46 nationally ranked, Ela Kaluder of Arkansas, to advance to Sunday's final singles draw.
Five Sooners, Brittany Baldy, Tara Eckel, Marie-Pier Huet, Kristin Gray and Peta Maree Lancaster, were defeated in the singles quarterfinals on Saturday. Maria Kalashnikova and Kristina Radan were successful in the singles backdraw, defeating both of their Kansas State opponents.

In doubles action Sooner duos, Constantinescu and Radan and Eckel and Lancaster, were defeated in the final round. Constantinescu and Radan were defeated by Aurelija Miseviciute and Ela Kaluder of Arkansas, 8-2. Eckel and Lancaster were defeated by another Arkansas duo, Emily Carbone and Kate Lukomskaya, 8-3.

The Sooners split in the doubles backdraw with Huet and Kalashnikova defeating Mariya Slupska and Vanessa Cottin from Kansas State and Baldy and Gray falling to Caroline Beaulieu teamed with Jie Zheng from Tulsa.

The Razorback Classic will conclude Sunday afternoon with the final round of singles play.
