Norman, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team (6-2) returns to its home courts Saturday, March 8 at 12 p.m., when it hosts No. 58 Tulsa (11-3) at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
It will be the 28th time the two teams have met, with OU holding a 24-3 series lead. The two last faced off Feb. 13, 2007 in Tulsa with the Sooners falling 5-2.
"Tulsa has a great program," head coach Mark Johnson said. "It will be a great match for us."
The Golden Hurricane come to Norman after falling 4-3 on the road to No. 47 Wichita State.
The Sooners return to the courts after sweeping Oral Roberts University in their home opener Saturday, March 1.
Oklahoma's Ana-Maria Constantinescu, ranked No. 65 in the March 4th release of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles rankings, holds a 7-0 record at the No. 1 singles position. She is also undefeated at the No. 1 doubles spot with senior Chelsea Orr.
Constantinescu is projected to face Tulsa's freshman standout Alexandra Kichoutkin, who is currently 12-2. Kichoutkin received her third Conference USA Player of the Week honor on March 4, 2008 .
"It will be a very good match for Ana," Johnson said. "Both are very talented players. Ana just needs to come out and play her game."
The first 200 fans in attendance Saturday will receive a free Oklahoma tennis t-shirt and all fans will have the chance to enter a drawing for a racquet.
The men's tennis team will also be in action Saturday at noon as they host Memphis. Both the men's and women's team will host an autograph session at the conclusion of the match.
