"It was a tough match," Johnson said. "You have to give credit to TCU; they are a great team. We just did not play well."
The Sooners lone doubles win came from Elena Antakova and Christi Baxley. The duo defeated Nina Munch-Soegaard and Katariina Tuohimaa 8-7 (1).
"I thought Elena and Christi played well," OU head coach Mark Johnson said. "They really competed hard and did what they needed to do to finish the match."
In singles action, freshman Maria Kalashnikova earned
Kalashnikova defeated the freshman in three sets. The Tbilisi, Georgia, lost the first set 2-6 before bouncing back to take the next two, 7-5, 10-6.
"It was a great win and a great match for Maria," Johnson said. "She really played well."
