NORMAN, Okla., - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team increased its series record against Oklahoma Baptist to 12-0 Friday at Willow Creek Golf and Country Club in Oklahoma City. The teams played two duals, with the Sooners twice defeating the Bisons, 7-0.

In the first round of play Oklahoma took an early 1-0 lead, sweeping doubles play. Rachael Cox and Maria Kalashnikova led the Sooners off the court easing to an 8-1 win over Kaitlin Pascucci and Katie Halbesleben.

Christi Baxley and Maria Kalashnikova represented OU at the No. 3, claiming an 8-3 win over Bison's Brooke Mowery and Camber Robinett.

"I was pleased with our performance in doubles," OU head coach Mark Johnson said. "I thought we made good decisions and finished the big points."

In singles action the Sooners were victorious at all six positions, dropping only nine total games.

"I thought the girls did a good job of putting to action some of the things we have worked on in practice," Johnson said.

Constantinescu continued to roll at No. 1 singles, defeating Attard 6-0, 6-3. Freshman Maria Kalashnikova competed at the No. 2, battling to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Oklahoma Baptist's Brittany Byrd.

After adjusting the lineups, the second dual began promptly after the first. Immediately following her first win, Kalashnikova began warming up for her second singles match. The Tbilisi, Georgia, native eased to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Robinett, giving OU a 1-0 lead in the second dual with OBU.

At the No. 6, Oklahoma introduced junior Kate Robinson. The Flower Mound, Texas native defeated OBU's Mowery, 6-4, 6-1.
