Constantinescu Advances in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY—Sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu advances to the singles Quarterfinal Round Friday at the ITA Central Regional Championship Tournament.

Constantinescu defeated Jo-Anne Karaitiana from Oklahoma State; 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the top 16 round.  Then Constantinescu defeated Lutfiana Budiharto from Wichita State; 6-7, 6-3, 7-5, to advance to Saturday's Quarterfinal Round.

Tara Eckel, Marie Huet and Maria Kalashnikova also competed Friday at the ITA tournament in the singles consolation round.  All three Sooners went 1-1 and were eliminated from the Tournament.

Constantinescu will face Madeleine Geibert from Nebraska Saturday in the Quarterfinal Round.
