NORMAN, Okla. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2007 ITA All-Academic Teams and the Oklahoma women's tennis team was listed for the 11th consecutive year.
"I am very proud of the ongoing success in the classroom that our teams have had," said head coach Mark Johnson.
Along with the team being recognized, three Sooners were honored individually as ITA Scholar Athletes. Sooners named were senior and team captain Christi Baxley along with 2007 graduates Gabby Baker and Irina Lykina.
All three were named to the list for the second straight season.
"It is a big accomplishment," said head coach Mark Johnson. "I am very proud of them all."
In order to be considered for the ITA All-Academic award, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above. For individuals to be considered as a Scholar athlete, they must be a varsity letterwinner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
