Women's Tennis Releases Fall Schedule

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma women's tennis team has announced its 2007 fall schedule with the season opener taking place Sept. 28-30 in Boulder, Colo., at the Colorado Invitational.

"We have a really strong fall schedule in place," said head coach Mark Johnson. "We are really looking forward to it."

The Sooners will be on the road for the entire fall season with appearances at the ITA Regional Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 17-21, where they will attempt to qualify for the National Indoor Championships (Nov. 1-4) in Columbus, Ohio.

Following their Tulsa appearance, those individuals that do not qualify for the Indoor Championships will represent Oklahoma at the San Diego Invitational, Nov. 2-4. The Sooners will also get a chance to qualify for the All-American Championships in Los Angeles held Sept. 29-Oct. 7.

"I am very happy with the schedule," said Johnson. "The girls will get some good tennis in before the spring season."

The team will divide up the tournaments with each player playing approximately three events.
