NORMAN, Okla.--Senior Marek Velicka and junior Federico Chavarria were defeated in the final round of the 2006 Polo Ralph Lauren All American Qualifier Wednesday in Tulsa, Okla.

The Sooners began play Tuesday.  They were seeded second in the draw and received a bye in the round of 64.  In the round of 32 Velicka and Chavarria defeated SMU's Federico Murgier and Alex Skrypko, 8-5, after coming back from a 5-3 deficit. 

The win advanced the pair to the round of 16 where they suffered a loss to Ohio State's Chris Klingeman and Devin Mullings, 8-4.  The win puts Klingeman and Mullings in the doubles main draw which will begin Thursday Oct. 5.

Velicka will continue play in Tulsa in the singles main draw.  His first match will be Thursday Oct. 5. He is scheduled to play VCU's Arnaud Lecloerec in the round of 64 at 8 a.m.
