Women's Tennis Enjoys Bye Week

Women's Tennis Moves to 17th in the Nation

The Oklahoma women's tennis team moved up another seven spots to No. 17 in the latest ITA rankings as released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday. The ranking reflects wins over seven top 50 teams this spring, including recent victories over  No. 21 BYU and No. 34 William and Mary.

 In singles play senior standout Anda Perianu (Braila, Romania) moved up one spot to No. 6, with five wins over ranked opponents and an overall spring record of 9-1.

 In doubles, Perianu and junior Heather Saluri (Des Moines, Iowa) jumped up 13 spots to No. 13. The ranking reflects a recent win over William and Mary's then-15th-ranked team of Megan Muth and Amy Wei. Perianu and Saluri are 6-3 on the season.

 The Sooners will be in action against Tulsa on Wed., March 24, at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
