Womens Tennis Begins Season in Arizona

The Oklahoma women's tennis team begins regular season action Friday, Jan. 30, against San Diego at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz., at 10 a.m. The two match road trip will also see the Sooners take on Arizona on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m.

OU is led by returning Big 12 Player of the Year and No. 3 ranked senior Anda Perianu (Braila, Romania) as well as freshmen newcomers Irina Lykina (Kazan, Russia) and Gabby Baker (Gold Coast, Australia) who are expected to be a strong additions to the Sooner lineup.
 
Oklahoma looks to improve on an impressive 2003 season which saw OU selected for the NCAA Regional Championships for the first time since 1998. The Sooners also sent two players to the NCAA Individual Championships.
