Women's Tennis Set To Open Big 12 Play

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team will travel north this weekend to take on No. 47 Kansas State on Saturday at 11 a.m. and No. 58 Kansas on Sunday at 11 a.m. The match with the Wildcats will be played at the Washburn Tennis Facility in Manhattan, Kan., while the match with the Jayhawks will be held at the Robinson Courts in Lawrence, Kan.
The Sooners are 8-0 on the year and find themselves ranked No. 37 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll this week. Oklahoma is 3-0 against regional opponents, with wins over No. 59 New Mexico, St. Louis and Oral Roberts.
Kansas State is 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Big 12 Conference, with wins over Colorado and Texas Tech. Kansas is 4-3 on the year, and opens Big 12 play today by hosting Texas Tech.
Oklahoma returns to action on Mon., March 18, against Chaminade. Match time is set for 2 p.m. in Honolulu, Hawaii.
