Women's Tennis Falls To. No. 21 Texas A&M

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team (11-4), ranked No. 42 in the country, fell to its third Big 12 opponent of the season, Texas A&M, 5-2, on Friday at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center. The Aggies are now 15-3 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12, their best start in school history.

Junior Melissa Mendieta, who hasn't played since Feb. 5 due to injury, came back against Texas A&M to win at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles (with Anda Perianu). Mendieta is now 4-1 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles action. Freshman Heather Saluri, who is 10-4 in singles, defeated Majorie Terburgh at the No. 3 spot, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5).

Oklahoma is scheduled to play No. 14 Texas today at 1 p.m. at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center.
