Women's Tennis Edges Texas Tech, 4-3

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team defeated Texas Tech, 4-3, on Tuesday, March 29, at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, Texas. The No. 44 Sooners won their first Big 12 match of the year, improving to 1-2 in league play and 11-3 overall. The Red Raiders fall to 4-10 on the season.

The Sooners won four out of the six singles matches and one doubles match for the win. Sophomore Anda Perianu improved to 10-4 on the year with a 6-2, 7-6 victory over Texas Tech's Irina Tereschenko at No. 1 singles. Junior Annette Bryntesson and freshman Heather Saluri won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, in three sets. Freshman Bethany Griffin won in straight sets at the No. 5 singles spot. Freshman Jessica Braver and Griffin teamed up for the Sooners' only doubles win at the No. 2 spot.

Oklahoma returns to action Friday, March 29, against Texas A&M. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center.
