NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team went 2-0 in doubles and 1-2 in singles at the Omni Hotels Central Region Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Saturday afternoon. The tournament is being held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center with a field including players from Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Creighton, Denver, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Montana, Montana State, Nebraska, New Mexico, new Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Southwest Missouri State, Saint Louis, Tulsa, Utah, Utah State and Wichita State.
The doubles duo of junior Anda Perianu (Braila, Romania) and sophomore Heather Saluri (Des Moines, Iowa) were a perfect 2-0 on the day to reach the final round in the doubles main draw.
In singles, Perianu reached the semifinals of the main draw before falling in straight sets. Senior Annette Bryntesson (Perth, Australia) was defeated in the quarterfinals of the backdraw.
Perianu and Saluri will compete for the doubles title against Missouri's Urska Juric and Katia Seveikova at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
