OU Women's Tennis Finishes Strong at TCU Invitational

NORMAN, Okla.- In its first tournament of the fall season, the University of Oklahoma women's tennis team finished strong at the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend. The Sooners won five of seven singles and three of five doubles matches in the second and final day of competition.

In the individual scoring event, OU finished with 16 singles victories and six doubles wins.

Junior Melissa Mendieta and newcomers Heather Saluri and Jessica Braver went undefeated in singles play to lead the Sooners while the doubles team of Mendieta and junior Joni Helleland won both of their doubles matches.

The Sooners return to action on Oct. 6 at the All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.
