NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Texas-Arlington Saturday at the Westwood Tennis Center in Norman. OU dropped to 1-7 on the year with the loss while UTA improved to 14-6 overall.
The Sooner doubles tandem of senior Julio Martinez and freshman Evan Davis recorded OU' s only win of the match at No. 2 doubles, defeating Per-Erik Karlsson and Tom Zarzeczny, 8-5. UTA won both the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions to take the doubles point.
The Mavericks were victorious at all six singles spots, cruising to the 7-0 victory.
Oklahoma returns to Big 12 Conference play at home next week when it hosts intrastate rival Oklahoma State on Tuesday, April 10, and takes on Kansas, Friday, April 13. Both duals will start at 2 p.m. at the Westwood Tennis Center.
