NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team lost a 7-0 decision to Bedlam rival Oklahoma State Tuesday at the Westwood Tennis Center in Norman. OU dropped to 2-8 on the season and 0-6 in Big 12 Conference play, while the 42-ranked Cowboys improved to 11-7 overall and evened their league record at 3-3. Six of the Sooners' losses have come at the hands of ranked opponents.
Oklahoma State won all six singles positions and four were straight-set victories. The Sooners lost two three-set battles at the top two singles spots. Senior Julio Martinez dropped a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, decision to OSU's Matt Prentice at the top slot and sophomore Matt Ogle fell 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, to Chris Bates at the No. 2 position.
OSU won all three doubles positons to cap off the 7-0 win.
Oklahoma will compete in its final home match this season on Friday when No. 54 Kansas comes to Norman. The two teams will take the court at 2 p.m. at Westwood.
