Sooners Blanked By No. 25 Baylor

WACO, Texas - The 25th-ranked Baylor Bears were just too much, as the Oklahoma men's tennis team fell, 7-0, Sunday in Waco. The Sooners are 1-4 overall, and 0-2, in league action on the season.

Senior Julio Martinez took Baylor's Csongor Bibza to three sets before eventually falling 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. Sooner sophomore Chris Mitchell captured the first set at No. 3 singles, but Mark Williams rallied in the next two to win the match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Baylor, the defending Big 12 Conference Champion, earned wins at all three doubles positions as well.

Oklahoma returns to action in Norman on March 30 at 1 p.m. when Texas comes to town. The Sooners will host Texas A&M the following day, again at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Westwood Tennis Center.
