Golfers Headed For Big 12 Fall Preview

The Oklahoma women's golf team will travel to Waco, Texas, for the Big 12 Fall Preview Oct. 2-3 at the Ridgewood Country Club.
Competing for the Sooners will be Jennifer James, Allison Johnson, Wendy Martin, Lisa Medrum and Jennifer Tannehill, as well as Betsy Berry as an individual.
Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday. Competition on the par-72, 5,991-yard course will begin at 8 a.m. Oklahoma finished in third place last year behind Nebraska and Oklahoma State in Lincoln, Neb.
Sooners at a Glance
Betsy Berry: Placed 30th at the Dick McGuire last week with a 231 ... Tied for seventh at the Husker Invitational, firing a 227 ... Carded her low score (226) of last season at the NCAA Regionals ... Recorded a season scoring average of 79.6.
Jennifer James: Tied for 20th this past weekend at the Dick McGuire with a 228 ... Led the team with a third-place finish (226) at the Husker Invitational ... Produced the second-best scoring average (77.6) on the squad last season.
Allison Johnson: Carded a 232 a week ago for 34th place ... Finished 28th with a 235 at the Husker Invitational ... Posted lowest one-round score (69) on the team ... Compiled a scoring average of 78.0 last year.
Wendy Martin: Led the Sooners last weekend with a 227 for 17th at the Dick McGuire ... Carded a 239 for 37th at the Husker Invitational ... Recorded the best stroke average (76.7) on the team last year.
Lisa Meldrum: Placed 30th with a score of 231 last weekend at the Dick McGuire Invitational .. Fired a team-low score (72) in the first round of the Husker Invitational ... Three-time Quebec Junior Champion (97, 98, 99) ... 2000 Quebec Amateur Champion ... 2000 Canadian Junior Champion.
Jennifer Tannehill: Competing in her first tournament of the season ... Helped the Sooners win the Big 12 title with her 235 and 21st-place finish ... Shot her low round of the season at the NCAA West Regional with a 72.
