Norman, Okla.- Oklahoma senior Rick Warren was named to the GTE Academic All-America Spring Men's At-Large third team announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Warren produced a perfect 4.0 grade point average this past spring while assisting the men's tennis team to a final national ranking of No. 50 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's poll. He was also one of three Sooners who participated in the 2000 NCAA Individual Championships in Athens, Ga. Warren's doubles partner was Charlie Robinson and Dusty Beard competed in the singles portion of the national tournament.

"This is a great way for Rick to cap off his career at Oklahoma," said OU men's tennis coach Paul Lockwood. "He is an outstanding young man who has given a lot to this program, both on the court and in the classroom."

This past year, Warren went 15-14 in singles action and was 20-14 when playing doubles. In addition, he was named to his fourth consecutive Academic All-Big 12 team, was selected for the All-Big 12 doubles team and was a GTE All-District VI honoree.
