CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team was defeated by No. 58 Tulsa, 5-2, in its fourth match of the weekend at the H.E.B. Championships in Corpus Christi, Texas. The match was held at the H.E.B Tennis Center. The Sooners closed the tournament with a 2-2 record and fell to 6-5 on the season. The Golden Hurricane pushed their record to 9-4 with the victory.
In doubles action, OU seniors Charlie Roberson and Rick Warren picked up a victory at the No. 1 position with an 8-5 victory over Nenad Torman and Pawel Sebastianski. The Sooners lost their other two doubles matches by identical 8-6 scores.
In singles competition, senior Dusty Beard was a straight-set winner over Dane McGregor, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1 position. At the No. 6 position, freshman Tobias Kronlein won his seventh straight match of the season, ousting Micah Zomer in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. The Golden Hurricane was victorious at the other four positions in the singles competition.
This week, the Sooners are on the road Wednesday at Oral Roberts. Match time is set for 12:00 p.m.
