Men's Tennis Downs Oral Roberts

TULSA, Okla. -- The 53rd-ranked Oklahoma men's tennis team defeated Oral Roberts, 6-1, at the Oral Roberts Varsity Tennis Courts in Tulsa, Okla., on Wednesday, March 8. The Sooners pushed their record to 7-5 while the Golden Eagles fell to 2-7.

OU dominated the doubles action winning 8-4, 8-4, and 8-3. In singles action, the Sooners pulled out several close matches. At the No. 1 position, senior Dusty Beard came back to edge Gareth Donachie, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. Senior Jeremy Dunham won a three-set match over Duncan Fourie, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. And freshman Tobias Kronlein rebounded to beat Jared Welch, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6, at the No. 6 position.

The Sooners travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to face Cal State Sacramento on Tuesday, March 14. Match time is set for 10 a.m. (HST) at the UH Tennis Courts.
