Sooners Eliminated by Baylor at Big 12 Championship

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team was defeated by second-seeded Baylor, 4-0, Friday at the Big 12 Championship in College Station, Texas. The Sooners entered the championship as the seventh seed. OU finished the season 13-15 overall.

Baylor rallied early to pick up the doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. OU's Charlie Roberson and Rick Warren fell to Johann Jooste and David Hodge, 8-3, while BU's Csonger Bibza and Mark Williams claimed the victory over John Walker and Jave Rush 8-4.

The netters played only three matches in singles competition with Baylor taking each. Hodge defeated Roberson, 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3 position. Jorge Aldrete topped OU's Jeremy Dunham, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 4 slot while the Bears' Bibza defeated John Walker, 6-3, 6-1.
