NORMAN, Okla. - The 56th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners womens tennis team (11-6, 4-1) travel for two Big 12 road matches this weekend. OU will face Iowa State (5-11, 0-9) in Ames on Friday at 1 p.m. and 66th-ranked Nebraska (14-5, 2-4) in Lincoln on Sunday at 10 a.m. The Sooners are 1-1 on the road in league play including an upset of No. 34 Texas A&M.
Oklahoma is currently on a two match win streak and has won three of its last four matches. The win streak includes upsets of No. 53 Tulsa (5-4) and No. 47 Baylor (6-3). The two recent wins helped OU jump to No. 56 from No. 61 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ranking (ITA) which was released on Tuesday.
Iowa State occupies the cellar of the Big 12 standings with an 0-9 conference record. The Cyclones dropped their latest match on Tuesday, 0-9, to their in-state rival Iowa. ISU compiled a three-match win streak in mid-March with wins over North Texas, East Tennessee State and Stetson.
Nebraska holds the eighth position in the conference standings with a 2-4 record. The Cornhuskers suffered back-to-back road losses last weekend to No. 32 Kansas, 7-2, and Kansas State, 6-3, ending an eight match winning streak.
