This Week for the Sooners
The Sooners (13-13, 2-5) will wrap up their regular season with instate rival Oklahoma State (6-10, 0-6) at the Westwood Tennis Complex in Norman, Okla. at 2 p.m. If weather interferes, the match will be moved to the Oaktree Country Club in Edmond, Okla. later that evening.

Recapping the Competition

Oklahoma vs. Nebraska
Nebraska, who is 8-10, won its third-straight match Friday against OU, 6-1, at the Wood Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb.

The only doubles duo to give the Oklahoma netters their lone point on the day was Sooners Clinton Alford and Jave Rush at the No. 3 position. Alford and Rush paired to defeat NU's Kai Rieke and Ryan Haith 9-8.

Oklahoma vs. Colorado
The Sooners won their second conference match of the season over Colorado, 4-3, on Sunday.

Two Oklahoma doubles duos rallied early to gain the point for the netters. At the No. 2 position, OU's Dusty Beard and Jeremy Dunham claimed the win over Kevin Grieve and Jerad Harbaugh 8-6, while Clinton Alford and Jave Rush defeated Colorado's Arnaud Huard-Merineau and Bryan Knepper 8-6.

CU and OU split the singles matches 3-3. OU's Charlie Roberson garnered the victory at the No. 3 slot against Artur Rusiecki in three sets 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. Picking up his sixth win at the No. 5 position was Dunham. Dunham took his second win on the day over Grive 7-5, 6-2. Sooner Jave Rush improved his record to 11-5 at the No. 6 position with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Graham Cross.

Saluting Sooner Senior
Jave Rush, a four year veteran, will pick up his racket in front of his home crowd for the last time for dual action this week. Rush has exceeded every expectation that could be placed on a student-athlete by garnering honor in both the classroom and on the court.

Rush has maintained 3.9 grade point average throughout his collegiate career--one of the highest among OU May graduating student-athletes.

During his sophomore and junior seasons, Rush was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Academic All-American Team . He individually garnered the prestigious honor of being listed as ITA Scholar-Athlete in 1997-98. Rush has also been named as a member of the 1999 Region V Indoor Championship Team, Academic All-Big Eight Honorable Mention and Big Eight No. 3 Doubles Champion with former teammate Thomas Netland in 1995-96.

Scouting the Cowboys

Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State hopes as they travel into squad hopes to pick up their second conference win on the season after losing to five Big 12 opponents and the Cowboys seek their first victory over the Sooners since 1995. Leading the way for the squad will be Rob Howarth, who has carried his position at No. 1 singles to 8-6 and 3-4 against conference opponents. He will look to increase his mark against OU's Dusty Beard. OU's Charlie Roberson and Rick Warren, who are 40th nationally, will take on No. 49 Rob Howarth and Matt Prentice.

OSU suffered two conference losses last week. The netters fell short to Colorado Friday 6-1 and dropped to Nebraska on Sunday 5-2.
