Two Sooners Compete in ITA All-American Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - Rick Warren and Charlie Roberson of the University of Oklahoma men's tennis team competed today in the qualifying round of the 1999 Reebok/ITA Men's All-American Championships in Austin, Texas. The University of Texas' Penick-Allison Tennis Center serves as the host of the second leg of the ITA Grand Slam.

Both Sooners lost their opening matches today. Pepperdine's John Hui defeated Warren in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5, while Roberson pushed San Diego State's Travis Hasson to three sets before losing, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. With the losses, Warren and Roberson drop to the consolation bracket where they will play tomorrow.
