OU Returns to Norman for O Ring Alumni Open

April 23, 2026 | Track and Field

NORMAN — Oklahoma track and field returns home this weekend to host the Oklahoma O Ring Alumni Open, set for Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex.

As the outdoor regular season enters its back half, the Sooners will look to improve their regional marks in pursuit of qualifying for the NCAA West Regional and, ultimately, the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.

The two-day meet will begin Friday with combined events, as Oklahoma's Ally Stephenson will compete in the women's heptathlon, starting with the 100-meter hurdles at 12 p.m. CT. Saturday's action will also begin with combined events, opening with the women's long jump (heptathlon) at 9:30 a.m. CT. Doors will open one hour prior to the first scheduled event, and admission is free for all spectators.

Last time out

The Sooners are coming off a strong showing in California at the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational. Oklahoma recorded several personal-best performances and two school records, with Domtila Cheruto and Ronald Ngetich setting new outdoor program records in the 5,000 meters, while Ralford Mullings captured a win in the elite men's discus.

Sooners in the rankings

Oklahoma enters the weekend with several top-10 national marks. Ralford Mullings holds the No. 2 mark in the NCAA in the men's discus, while Kennedy Stringfellow ranks No. 6 in the men's long jump and Hannah Pfiffner sits No. 9 in the women's high jump.

As a group, the women's triple jump and men's high jump squads both rank No. 2 in the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings. The Sooners are also ranked No. 5 in the women's pole vault and No. 8 in the women's long jump.

Run it back

The Sooners are in their second season in the SEC, one of the premier conferences in collegiate track and field. In their inaugural season, Oklahoma captured eight individual conference titles and finished fourth on the women's side at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, the men earned a sixth-place finish, the program's best outdoor nationals result in 28 years.
