COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition Saturday at the R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track & Field Facility to close out the SEC Indoor Championships, as the men finished eighth and the women placed 13th overall.
The men collected 22.5 points on the final day from Tyson Ritz, BJ Green, Kyren Washington, Floyd Whitaker, Hilton Green and Tucker Smith to finish with 39.5 total points. The women added three points Saturday from Tyley Dotson and Riley Ammenhauser to close the weekend with 21.5.
The afternoon began with Dotson in the women's shot put, where she recorded a 15.90m (52'2") throw to place seventh and score two points.
Oklahoma's men gained significant ground in the team standings during the high jump. Ritz cleared a personal-best 2.25m (7'4.50") to earn the silver medal, a mark that moves him to second all-time in Oklahoma history, tied with Washington. Washington matched the height to claim bronze and secure his second consecutive podium finish at the SEC Indoor Championships after winning gold a season ago.
Green added points in the men's pole vault, clearing 5.46m (17'11.00") to finish fifth. Smith followed with a seventh-place mark of 18.61m (61'0.75") in the men's shot put.
On the women's side, Ammenhauser registered a season-best 13.01m (42'8.25") to place eighth in the triple jump, a mark that ranks 10th in OU history.
Freshman Domtila Cheruto capped her conference debut with a 9:04.30 showing in the women's 3,000 meters, moving to No. 3 in Oklahoma history. The performance is her third top-three entry in the program record book over the past two weeks, as she also owns the school record in the 5,000 meters and ran on the record-setting distance medley relay team.
The final scoring event of the meet for the Sooners came in the men's triple jump, where BJ Green captured silver with a 16.54m (53'11.25") effort — his third career indoor conference podium finish across SEC and Big 12 competition. Whitaker added a personal-best jump of 16.44m (53'11.25") to take fourth-place and climb to No. 6 on OU's all-time list.
Oklahoma track and field athletes that posted top-16 marks in the NCAA during the 2025-26 indoor season will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center.
