COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams concluded day two of the SEC Indoor Championships on Friday at the R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track & Field Facility, highlighted by two school record-breaking performances.
The day opened in the women's weight throw, where Kennedy Clarke put the Sooners on the board with a fourth-place finish. Clarke launched a 21.69m (71'2.00") throw — just one centimeter shy of her personal best — to score five team points.
On the men's side, Brendon See delivered a record-breaking performance in the weight throw, registering a personal-best 21.92m (71'11.50") to set a new Oklahoma standard and place sixth.
In the women's high jump, junior Hannah Pfiffner cleared a personal-best 1.87m (6'1.50") to earn a silver-medal finish. The mark tied the program record set by Jane Clough in 1985, ending a 41-year run atop the OU record book solely. Freshman Brianna Rivers also added points in the event, clearing 1.76m (5'9.25") to tie for seventh.
Oklahoma returns to action Saturday at 2 p.m. CT with the men's high jump. Running events are scheduled to begin at 4:05 p.m. with the women's mile final.
The Sooners will look to make a push in the team standings on the final day, as the women sit eighth with 18.5 points and the men 10th with seven points.
