NORMAN – Oklahoma track and field redshirt junior
Ralford Mullings was named the SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at Texas Relays Saturday, the conference announced Tuesday evening.
Mullings registered a career collegiate-best 69.13m (226'10.00") discus throw on his final attempt to win the event, shattering the Oklahoma program record, meet record and Mike A. Myers Stadium record.
The Kingston, Jamaica, native is now the No. 2 all-time performer in NCAA history and his mark accounts for the fourth-best toss ever recorded in NCAA history. Mullings becomes one of only two men in NCAA collegiate history to surpass 69 meters in the discus throw.
Per World Athletics, Mullings' throw ranks No. 1 in the world in 2025 and leads the NCAA by a 5.27 meter margin and the SEC by 9.88 meters.
This accolade marks Oklahoma Track & Field's first weekly SEC honor of the outdoor season and the fourth weekly conference award of 2025.
