UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 18 Oklahoma wrestling team fell to top-ranked Penn State 45-0 on Friday evening at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Sooners (0-1, 0-0 Big 12) rolled out a young core featuring five redshirt freshmen, including returners Layton Schneider (149), Landyn Sommer (157), Owen Eck (165) and Anders Thompson (184). Wyoming transfer Tyson Charmoli made his Oklahoma debut at 133 pounds.

Redshirt junior DJ Parker (197) and redshirt sophomore Carter Schubert (174) also made their debuts at new weight classes after moving up from 184 and 157, respectively.

Penn State recorded eight bonus-point victories, including five technical falls, two major decisions and one fall.

UP NEXT

The Sooners face a quick turnaround as they travel to Lewisburg, Pa., for a Saturday matchup against Bucknell on Nov. 15. The first bout from Davis Gym is set for 7 p.m. CT and will stream on ESPN+.
