Upcoming Event: Track and Field versus OU Winter Field Fest Invitational on December 5, 2025

NORMAN — Oklahoma head track and field/cross country coach James Thomas announced the team's 2026 schedule Thursday. The slate consists of twenty regular-season meets, including eight home events.
"This year's schedule is especially exciting," Thomas said. "We have the privilege of hosting several meets right here in Norman, and everyone knows how special those moments can be. We will also compete in some of the premier regional and national events in our sport, giving our athletes valuable opportunities to test themselves against elite competition.
"The balance of academics, athletics, and the overall student-athlete experience will be on full display throughout the 2025–26 season."
The Sooners are hosting the inaugural OU Winter Field Fest to start the season on Friday, Dec. 5, while a small group of athletes travel to Boston, Mass., for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 6.
OU picks competition back up the next month, hosting the Owen Hewitt Invitational Jan. 16, followed by the 24th annual JD Martin Invitational Jan. 23, both at the Mosier Indoor Facility in Norman. A group of Sooners will travel to the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas, Jan. 23.
The team travels to Manhattan, Kansas, the following weekend for the Deloss Dodds Invitational Jan. 30-31. OU will host the Oklahoma Classic, Feb. 6, before splitting into three groups the following weekend for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Husky Classic in Seattle and Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., Feb. 13-14.
The Sooners host their final indoor meet, the Crimson and Cream Qualifier, Feb. 20, while a select group of athletes travel back to Fayetteville for the Arkansas Qualifier.
The Crimson and Cream will begin the postseason at the SEC Indoor Championship in College Station, Texas, Feb. 26-28. Athletes who qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete at nationals, March 13-14.
The Sooners begin the outdoor season at the TCU Alumni Invitational in Fort Worth, March 20-21, followed by the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., March 27-28.
OU then hosts the 55th annual John Jacobs Invitational on April 10 at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex.
Next, the team travels to California and splits for the Mt. SAC Relays, April 15-16, and Bryan Clay Invitational, April 16-18. The team stays divided the following weekend as one group stays in Norman to host the OU O Ring Alumni Opener on April 25, while others travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the John McDonnell Invitational.
OU hosts the Sooner Invitational, its last home event of the season, May 2, before closing out the regular season in Fayetteville at the Arkansas Twilight meet on May 8.
The Sooners begin the postseason at the SEC Track & Field Outdoor Championship hosted by Auburn at the Hutsell-Rosen Track and Field Complex, May 14-16. Athletes who post top-46 marks will qualify for the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Ark., May 27-30.
Sooners who qualify will conclude the outdoor season at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 10-13.
