Women's Golf Finishes Seventh at Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma women's golf concluded the season-opening Carmel Cup in seventh (84-over, 1,159), and junior Savannah Barber secured a top-20 finish, firing a 1-under 71 and placing 18th (+10, 221).

Barber tallied rounds of 77-78-71. The Fort Worth, Texas product recorded four birdies in the third round and tallied the lone round under par by a Sooner. Barber recorded birdies on the second and sixth hole before a bogey on the ninth, finishing the front nine 1-under 35. She tallied two additional birdies on the 11th and 15th holes, moving up 12 spots on the day.

Junior Isabelle Schlick tied for 26th and tallied rounds of 76-79-75, recording her best round on Sunday. Schlick drained her lone birdie on the 18th, finishing the back nine even par 36.

Senior Reagan Chaney and sophomore Emily Hun tied for 36th (20-over, 236). Hun tallied the third-best round by a Sooner, firing a 4-over 76, while Chaney tallied a 5-over 77 in the final round. Hun recorded a trio of birdies on the front nine, including back-to-back on the second and third holes. Chaney drained two consecutive birdies on the sixth and seventh.

Junior Makayla Tyrrell and freshman Audrey Rischer rounded out the Oklahoma lineup, finishing 44th (27-over, 243) and 47th (29-over, 245), respectively. Tyrrell carded her lone birdie of the day on the 15th hole and tallied rounds of 84-82-77. After rounds of 82-77, Rischer concluded the tournament with a 14-over 86.
