Sooners in Eighth After 36 Holes at Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Senior Reagan Chaney fired a 4-over 76 and Oklahoma women's golf is in eighth (+68, 788), 10 strokes back from seventh-place Texas Tech (+58, 778), after the Carmel Cup second round at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Chaney opened play with three birdies, starting the day on the first hole. The Ardmore, Okla., product finished the front nine even-par 36. Chaney strung together five straight pars before ending her round with four bogeys. She is tied for 42nd (15-over, 159) after the first 36 holes.

Freshman Audrey Rischer recorded the second-best round of the day for the Sooners, firing a 5-over 77 and tying Chaney for 42nd.

Juniors Savannah Barber (6-over, 78) and Isabelle Schlick (7-over, 79) ended the round tied for 30th. Schlick tallied two birdies on the ninth and 18th holes, and Barber recorded her lone birdie on the 18th.

Sophomore Emily Hun and junior Makayla Tyrrell rounded out the OU lineup, tallying rounds of 9-over, 81 and 10-over, 82, respectively. Hun enters the final round tied for 46th and Tyrrell is tied for 48th.
