NORMAN – University of Oklahoma track and field junior
Olivia Lueking was named the Big 12 Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
The indoor and outdoor school record holder, Lueking competed in the women's pole vault at the John Jacobs Invitational where she recorded a 4.45m (14'7.25") mark for first place in front of the home crowd.
With this jump, the three-time Big 12 pole vault champion Lueking secured the No. 1 spot in the Big 12 and fourth-best vault in the NCAA so far this season.
This accolade marks Oklahoma's second weekly honor of the 2023-24 season after Big 12 champion and First-Team All-American,
BJ Green won the award on Jan. 31 for his effort in the triple jump.
