Austin, Texas – The University of Oklahoma track and field team concluded day one of Texas Relays held at Mike A. Myers Stadium Thursday night.
Junior
Colin Caso earned a title, five Sooners grabbed new collegiate bests and one secured a spot on OU's all-time outdoor list.
Kassidy Gallagher opened the meet with third place in the women's hammer throw with a 64.72m (212'4") toss.
In just four steps,
Angel Richmore recorded 43.03m (141'2") for sixth place in the women's javelin (section B).
Two Sooners competed in the men's hammer throw.
Bayley Campbell took fifth with a 66.68m (218'9") throw and
Ben Ryer recorded 59.72m (195'11") for 16th.
Hilton Green collected a collegiate PR with a 5.40m (17'8.50") jump in the men's pole vault for third place. His mark also accounts for the 10th-best vault in OU outdoor history.
In the women's 400-meter hurdles,
Jenna James recorded 1:00.20. In the timed finals, Sidney Kinnision grabbed a career-best time of 1:02.62. On the men's side of the timed finals,
Paul Martin clocked in at 55.02 for 16th.
Danny Doheny earned a career-best throw of 62.97m (206'7") for fifth place in section B of the men's javelin.
In distance,
Fernando Morales ran 3:51.70 for second place in the men's 1500m (section B) and
Gabe Medina clocked 3:54.47 for eighth.
Gabi Barrera secured a new personal record in the women's 5000m invitational with a 16:52.72 time.
Erin O'Brien registered a 18:51.52 time.
In the final event of the night,
Colin Caso took the men's 10000m title with a massive personal-record 30:02.02 time. Josh Cherry also ran a career-best, recording 32:05.43 for 10th.
