TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma women's golf wrapped up the first 36 holes of the Dale McNamara Invitational at Cedar Ridge Country Club on Monday, finishing 27-over, 595 and carding rounds of 293-302. The Sooners are one stroke back of BYU for third.
Senior
Reagan Chaney, competing as an individual, is in third and fired 5-under 66 in the first round. Chaney recorded six birdies and finished the front nine 4-under 32. The Ardmore, Okla., product tallied back-to-back birdies on the 16th and 17th holes before a bogey on the 18th. Chaney tallied a 1-over 72 to conclude the day, recording consecutive birdies on her final two holes.
Freshman
Audrey Rischer led the OU lineup and is 12th (3-over, 145), carding rounds of 73-72. Rischer recorded four birdies through 36 and tallied three on the front nine in the first round. She tallied 15 pars in the second round and a birdie on the fifth.
Junior
Gracie Mayo tied for 19th (6-over, 147) and finished the first round even 71. After consecutive setbacks to open the round, Mayo recorded a birdie on the par-5 fifth before 15 straight pars. She capped the round with a birdie on the second hole. Mayo opened the second 18 with a birdie on the third and finished the round 6-over 77.
Junior
MaKayla Tyrrell tied for 34th (10-over, 152) and junior
Savannah Barber tied for 37th (11-over, 153). Tyrell tallied rounds of 75-76. Barber opened with a 3-over 74, recording 14 pars. The Fort Worth, Texas product tallied an 8-over 79 to conclude play. Junior
Isabelle Schlick tied for 55th (15-over, 157).
