ATHENS, Ga. – Despite an up-and-down second round, Oklahoma women's golfer Mikhaela Fortuna tallied a 4-over 76 and is tied for 19th at the NCAA Athens Regional at UGA Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
Fortuna entered the second day tied for ninth, firing a 1-under 71 on Monday. She is 3-over 147 through the first 36 holes.
The Manila, Philippines, product tallied four-consecutive bogeys to open the round and moved to 5-over after a setback on the sixth. Fortuna drained her first birdie on the par-4 ninth, concluding the front nine 4-over 39.
After a par on the 10th, she dropped a pair of strokes on the 11th and 13th holes. Fortuna recorded three-consecutive pars and finished the round with back-to-back birdies.
Georgia (15-under, 561), South Carolina (5-under, 571), San Jose State (7-over, 583) and Maryland (13-over, 589) are the top-four teams after the first 36 holes. Augusta, Ohio State and Ole Miss are tied for fifth, tallying a 15-over 591.
Furman's Anna Morgan remains the top-ranked individual on a non-advancing team, firing an even par 72 to remain at 4-under.
