Trevino Named Big 12 Athlete of the Week

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma track and field senior Diego Trevino was named the men's Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Trevino competed in the men's shot put event at the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, where he marked a personal-best throw of 65-04 (19.91m) to place first.
With the personal-best throw, Trevino keeps his spot atop the Big 12 and claims the eighth farthest throw in the NCAA this season. In addition, Trevino moves up to the No. 2 spot in the OU record books.
The accolade marks Oklahoma's first weekly honor of the 2022-2023 season.
Trevino and the Sooners will head to Lubbock, Texas for the Corky/Crofoot Shootout on April 28-29.
