Day One of Sooner Invitational & Multis Concludes

NORMAN, Okla., - The University of Oklahoma track and field team finished day one of competition at the Sooner Invite and Multis, Friday evening.

Newcomer Kassidy Gallagher won the women's hammer throw with a personal best throw of 212-01 (64.65m), which is good for the fourth best in program history. She was followed by Abby Moore (58.59m) in third and Geraldine Udo (56.03m) in fourth.Ā 

Next, the women's heptathlon saw Pippi Lotta Enok finish the day in first place with a total of 3,323 points, while Ally Stephenson collected 2,817 points for ninth place. Heptathlon competition will resume tomorrow with long jump at 10:30 a.m. CT.

Nikolaj Gronbech currently sits in third place with 3,454 points in the men's decathlon after five events. Competition will resume tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. CT with 110-meter hurdles.

Three Sooners finished in the top-10 for women's shot put with Payden Montana (17.00m) finishing second, Abby Moore (16.41m) collecting third, and Paige Low (16.10m) in sixth.Ā 

Ben Ryer threw for a personal-best 206-02 (62.86m) in the men's hammer throw for second place. Ā 

In the women's 100-meter hurdle preliminaries, Ariel Pedigo qualified for finalsĀ with a time of 14.68, while David Warmington clocked a personal-best 14.34 to also move on to tomorrow's 110-meter hurdles final. Ā 

Eva Kubickova (11.65), Mikayla Hayes (11.64) and Lilan Henderson (11.79) all qualified for tomorrow'sĀ 100-meter dash final. On the men's side, Josh Bour (10.32), Carter Cukerstein (10.33), and A'lajuwan Robinson (10.48) also move on to tomorrow's final. Ā 

Women's long jump saw Jasmine Akins (6.43m) collect second place, Nebtom N'da (6.17m) had a personal best for sixth place, and Agur Dwol cleared 5.91m for eighth.Ā 

In the women's 5k, Yazmine Wright clocked a 16:10.43 for first place and the fourth fastest time in OU history. On the men's side, Jordan Gledhill ran a personal-best time of 15:21.79 for second. Ā 

Next, Diego Trevino tied his outdoor career-best of 63-01.5 (19.24m) in the men's shot put for first place, while Tucker Smith cleared 61-03.5 (18.68m) for second place.Ā 

To conclude the day, freshman Donovyn Fowler cleared 24-04.5 (7.43m) in the men's long jump to secure fourth place. Ā 

Field action starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT with women's javelin throw. Multis will kick off at 10:30 a.m. CT and running events are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT. Ā
