LUBBOCK, Texas – The University of Oklahoma track and field team competed at the Texas Tech Open and Multis, Jan. 26-28, in Lubbock, Texas.
The Sooners sent a limited squad to the three-day meet in Lubbock. OU came home with two first place finishes, a broken school record, and a handful of personal bests.
The women's pentathlon started things off on Thursday afternoon with Pippi Lotta Enok collecting 4,049 points for fifth place. Her performance places her second on the Oklahoma all-time performance list and second in the Big 12. She had personal bests in every event except shot put.
Next, the men's heptathlon concluded on Friday afternoon with Kristo Simulask garnering a personal-best of 5,802 points for sixth place. Simulask took home three new personal records, a new school record, and the top spot on the Big 12 performance list. Freshman Nikolaj Gronbech had an impressive showing with an 11th place finish with 5,286 points. He collected two personal bests and the number five spot on the Oklahoma all-time performance list.
On the final day of the meet, senior Edita Sklenska started the Sooners off with a win in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.11. On the men's side, Anass Mghari and Fernando Morales both finished in the top-five, placing fourth and fifth respectively.
To conclude the meet for the Sooners, newcomer Yazmine Wright crossed the finish line at 4:48.59 in the mile run for a decisive first place finish.

The Sooners travel to Albuquerque, NM, for the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, Feb. 3-4.
