FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.Ā - The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams capped the first two days of the NCAA West Regional Prelims in Fayetteville, Ark., on Wednesday and Thursday.Ā

The Sooners qualified eightĀ student-athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 8-11, and advanced seven runners to their respective quarterfinal races on Friday and Saturday. The top 12 marks in field events advance to NCAAs, while the top 12 in quarterfinal or semifinal races on the track earn a spot in Eugene.Ā

Kicking off the day on Wednesday, senior
Bayley Campbell punched the Sooners' first ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the men's hammer throw, marking a 225-6 (68.74m). Redshirt senior
Edward Jeans also qualified in hammer on his last attempt, marking 213-4 (65.03m).

Two more tickets were punched when
Diego Trevino marked a major PR at 63-1.50 (19.24m) in men's shot put to qualify and move to No. 5 in OU history.
Cooper Campbell earned his spot with a qualifying mark at 63-0.25 (19.21m).

Josh Bour and redshirt senior
Demarius Smith both clocked a 10.37w and advanced to Friday's 100-meter dash quarterfinals.

Richard Kuykendoll automatically qualified for the 400-meter dash quarterfinals on Friday, after taking first in his heat and clocking a 45.53.

Isaiah Levingston grabbed a lane in Friday's 400-meter hurdle quarterfinals, clocking a 50.02.

On Saturday,
Lauren Jones opened the day by claiming her spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in women's hammer throw, marking 219-4 (66.86m).

Later, redshirt senior
Abby Moore threw a PR at 56-2.50 (17.13m) in women's shot put to qualify and moved to No. 5 in OU history.
Payden Montana also earned her spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, throwing a big third-attempt mark at 57-11.25 (17.66m).
Freshman
Olivia Lueking earned her spot at nationals in women's pole vault, clearing a height of 13-9.75 (4.21m).

Camri Austin won her heat in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a 13.18 to automatically advance to Saturday's quarterfinals.

Madison Langley-Walker clocked a season-best time at 57.55 to move on to Saturday's 400-meter hurdle quarterfinals. Also finding a lane in the quarterfinals, freshman
Jania Hodges advanced after clocking a PR at 58.98, moving her to No. 3 in school history.
