The two-time defending national champion Oklahoma softball team announced a seven-game 2022 fall schedule featuring three games against outside competition and four intrasquad scrimmages with an exciting format titled the Oklahoma Battle Series. Six of the seven exhibitions will be at Marita Hynes Field in Norman and open to the public. Follow along with all the action below.

The Sooners open against Seminole State on Monday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. CT. Following OU's game with SSC, every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in October will be the Oklahoma Battle Series, a series of points-based intrasquad scrimmages. MVPs will be crowned, and an individual champion will be named at the conclusion of the series.

After the final intrasquad, OU will close the fall with a game vs. North Central Texas College on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Marita Hynes Field.

All fall home games and the Battle Series will be streamed live via SoonerVision on ESPN+. Tickets for all games at Marita Hynes Field are available for purchase online at SoonerSports.com/tickets and at the gate on game days. All tickets are general admission and cost $10.

During OU's six games in the month of October, the Sooners will hold a food drive in conjunction with the OU Food Pantry. Fans are encouraged to bring canned or nonperishable items to donate at the gate. Fans who participate in the food drive will receive a Whataburger coupon for their donation at the front gate.

OU Athletics' clear bag policy will be in effect and walk-through metal detectors will be utilized. More information can be found here.

The 2022-23 team returns five All-Americans in Jordy Bahl, Jayda Coleman, Kinzie Hansen, Tiare Jennings and Grace Lyons. The Sooners are coming off a dominant 2022 campaign that saw the team finish 59-3 and claim the program's second straight and sixth national title.

Fall Ball Finale | Oklahoma 7, North Central Texas College 1 (3 inn.)

OU's fall ball finale was cut short after 3.1 innings due to weather, but the rain didn't stop the Sooners from putting up seven runs before the game was called. After NCTC put a run on the board in the first inning, OU responded with seven unanswered. In the bottom of the first, grad transfer Haley Lee ripped a 2-RBI double to put OU on the board and junior Alyssa Brito blasted a two-run homer. Sophomore Quincee Lilio (2 RBI) and junior Jayda Coleman (RBI) added to the Sooners total to bring fall ball to a close. In the circle, sophomore Jordy Bahl (5 K) and redshirt senior Alex Storako (2 K) saw action and limited the Lions to just two hits and no walks to go with a combined seven strikeouts.  

Battle Series Championship Recap | Team SoOoOoner 6, Team BoOoOomer 5

Lead, Tiare BATL Finale
On a Halloween-themed night for the Battle Series finale, the 1,101 fans at Marita Hynes Field and others watching live on ESPN+ got a ~treat~ with the championship intrasquad game going to extra innings to decide a winner. Down to the final out, junior Tiare Jennings blasted a two-run home run to tie the game at 5-5 and send it into a decisive eighth inning. Sophomore Hannah Coor stepped up with an RBI single to walk it off in the bottom of the eighth as Kinzie Hansen raced home and Team SoOoOoner completed a three-run comeback in the final two innings. Jennings, senior Alynah Torres and freshman Jocelyn Erickson all went yard on the night, while in the circle Jordy Bahl K'ed four in five innings of work. Sophomore Cydney Sanders was crowned the Battle Series individual champion with a four-week total of 726 points. Bahl claimed second-place honors with 621 total points while Jennings placed third with 544 points.

Battle Series Week Three Recap | Team Ricketts 5, Team Alo 4, Team Chamberlain 4

Lead, BATL Week 3
Expanding the Battle Series to incorporate three teams in one game, the Sooners split into a trio of squads: Team Alo, Team Chamberlain and Team Ricketts. The OU bats came to play, blasting eight home runs in the game, highlighted by a pair from sophomore Cydney Sanders and junior Tiare Jennings. Team Ricketts held on to an early lead and won the game with five runs to Team Alo and Chamberlain's four runs a piece. MVP honors on the night went to Sanders, Jennings and Rylie Boone. Sanders built on her Battle Series lead, totaling 214 points on the night to bring her three-week total to 606 points over Jordy Bahl's 455 and Jennings' and Hansen's matching 374 points.

Battle Series Week Two Recap | Las Campeonas 11, Las Bombas 6

Lead, Sanders Battle Series Week 2
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Night at Marita Hynes Field, week two of the Oklahoma Battle Series featured it all: grand slams, home runs, defensive gems and strikeouts. Team Las Campeonas came out on top, besting Las Bombas by a final score of 11-6. Las Campeonas blasted four home runs, two courtesy of transfer sophomore Cydney Sanders, one from Grace Lyons and a grand slam from Kinzie Hansen. Tiare Jennings chipped in a grand slam for Las Bambas who took the lead in an explosive six-run fourth inning before Hansen's grand slam in the fifth put Las Campeonas in the lead for good. Sophomore Jordy Bahl (3 K) and grad transfer Alex Storako (3 K) led the way in the circle for Las Campeonas. 

Sanders, Hansen and Lyons earned MVP honors on the night. With an impressive 266-point showing on the night, Sanders took the overall Battle Series lead over Bahl by a single point, 392-391.

Battle Series Week One Recap | Team Boomer 8, Team Sooner 0

Lead, Bahl Battle Series
OU began the exciting points-based Oklahoma Battle Series in front of a crowd of 1,065 at Marita Hynes Field and those tuned in live on ESPN+. The team was split into two squads, Team Boomer and Team Sooner. The Boomer squad brought the boom, blasting three homers on the night courtesy of two from Haley Lee and one from Jordy Bahl. Lee finished 2-for-4 with 4 RBI while Bahl collected 2 RBI and two strikeouts in the circle in 3.2 IP. Rylie Boone made her presence felt with a 3-for-3 showing and one RBI. Bahl and freshmen Kierston Deal and SJ Geurin shut out the Sooner squad, allowing just six hits.

Lee, Bahl and Boone each earned MVP honors on the night. The three sit atop the leaderboard after the first week of the Battle Series: Bahl - 269 points; Lee - 266; Boone - 204.

The Sooners opened the fall with a bang in front of a sellout crowd of 1,262 at Marita Hynes Field. Both sides of the ball impressed, with the offense blasting three home runs (Coleman, Jennings, Hansen) and the pitching staff (Bahl, Deal, May, Geurin, Storako) combining for 14 strikeouts in the 10-inning exhibition.

Junior Jayda Coleman led the Sooners in the box with a 4-for-5, 2 RBI performance, breaking the game open with the Sooners' first home run of the fall. In the circle, all five Sooner arms saw action. Sophomore Jordy Bahl started the game with three shutout innings and four strikeouts. Impressing in her Crimson and Cream debut was Michigan graduate transfer Alex Storako, throwing two innings and collecting all six outs via strikeout. Fourteen Sooners registered a hit in the contest, including 11 bringing in a run.
