MEDINAH, Ill. – The University of Oklahoma women's golf team wrapped up the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club Tuesday afternoon and finished 14th.
Mikhaela Fortuna led the Sooners through the two-day, 54-hole tournament, finishing 34th with a 2-under 214.
In her final 18 holes, Fortuna tallied a pair of birdies and finished both the front and back nines 1-over. She tallied eight birdies and one eagle throughout the tournament.
Savannah Barber and
Maria Fernanda Martinez tied for 52nd. The duo each compiled a 2-over 218 in the final round.
Martinez recorded the best round by a Sooner Tuesday, finishing even par 72. She opened the day 1-over through her first 11 holes and drained a birdie to move back to even on the ninth hole. Martinez dropped a stroke on the 10th and added her second and final birdie of the tournament on the 13th.
Barber completed the final round 4-over 76 and tallied two birdies on the front nine.
Kaylee Vesely and
Raychel Nelke each fired a 1-over 73 to complete the tournament.
Vesely tied for 62nd with a 4-over 220 and Nelke tied for 72nd with a 7-over 223.
