EUGENE, Ore. — Oklahoma's men's track and field teams closed their 2021 outdoor season on day three of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., Friday evening.
The men capped the season with a national runner-up, three first team All-Americans and four second team All-Americans. The team finished with 12.5 points, the most points scored at nationals since 2007 and the second most since 1997.
On the track, redshirt junior Isaiah Levingston concluded his historic season in the men's 400-meter hurdles, finishing as the national runner-up. Levingston, an Oklahoma native, clocked a personal best 48.49 en route to second. The Sooner holds the school record in the event, setting it this season, and was the collegiate leader heading into today's competition.
Redshirt junior Vernon Turner earned first team All-America honors in the men's high jump, clearing 7-2.5 (2.20m). Turner finished in a tie for fifth place. The redshirt junior, who has competed in four NCAA championships, tallied his second first team All-America accolades in Eugene, Ore. The Oklahoma native became a four-time first team All-American following tonight's performance.
In the men's triple jump, redshirt junior Jelaani Davis closed out his season with a jump of 51-7 (15.72m). Davis finished in a tie for 17th place in his NCAA championships debut. The redshirt junior is ranked ninth on OU's all-time top-10 list.
The men's 4x400-relay team, consisting of Salim Epps, Demarius Smith, Rayvon Allen and Levingston, earned second team All-America honors following their semifinals race on Wednesday. The team clocked a 3:07.47.
Allen earned first team All-America honors earlier in the week in the men's long jump. The senior leaped 25-2.75 (7.69m) to earn the accolade.
