SYDNEY, Australia — Oklahoma men's tennis alum Alex Bakshi is set to play in the third annual ATP Cup beginning Jan. 1, representing Team Georgia.
Bakshi, a 2019 graduate, is set to make his second appearance at the ATP Cup, representing Team Georgia in 2020. The ATP Cup 2022 will be the former Sooners' fourth pro outing for his country.
The event is broken into four groups with four countries represented in each group. Following the group stage, the four winners will advance to semi-finals competition which will be played knock-out style.
The nine-day event will take place at Ken Rosewall Arena and Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
While at OU, Bakshi tallied a 35-15 singles record in two seasons at OU, earning a .700 career-win percentage. Additionally, he made NCAA Singles Championships appearances in both his season at OU, advancing to the second round both times.
